The choice of colour

Various factors can influence the type of product to adopt:
  • the product matrix: water based or oil based
  • manufacturing conditions: process temperature, ph, light
  • interaction with other components of the blend: the presence of reducing agents or oxidants
  • the desired intensity (recommended dosage: (100-500 ppm)
Every colour has restrictions which are regulated by legislation (restrictions on use, see dir. 94/36/ce).

Procedures

The homogenous solution thus obtained makes it easy to incorporate the colour in the final preparation.

We recommend you render the water-soluble colour soluble before commencing, either in water or in another appropriate medium. In the case of pigments and lakes it is generally preferable if they are dispersed beforehand in the matrix. This causes the colour to be evenly distributed in the product and shortens the subsequent blending and conging phase.
