Mordant for woods
Water soluble mordant dyestuffs
for dyeing and professional touching up of wood (antique furniture)
The range of mordants for wood has recently been renewed and widened with the addition to the range of 3 new colours; thanks to the use of food colours, as subtle shades, we can now offer a range of low-environmental impact non-toxic colours.
The new containers (plastic tins) allow for more hygienic product handling, avoiding waste and dispersion into the air associated with powder.
The labels too have been improved and now feature bar codes thereby allowing customers, who wish to do so, the possibility of managing their storage facilities more rapidly.
Mordants for wood, unlike water and alcohol soluble stains, (often still referred to by the old name of "anilines") have the merit of enhancing wood grain.
Mordants for wood in aqueous solutions must be used within 12 hours of preparation; in fact as time passes the colour tends to precipitate, making the colour no longer suitable for use.
